Arbit History Class :P ..

Well .. This is something for myself .. *kinda selfish here* :P .. but who cares ..

Read along if you want .. its a good story though ;) ..

Hmm ..

Long Long Ago .. there was a land called India .. it had good trade relations with Europe ..

The trade Route being ..

Cross the Arabian Sea .. to the Red Sea .. till they reached Alexandria *which is a port in Egypt :)* .. the cross the Land-trap called Suez by foot .. reaching the Mediterranean .. Go across the Mediterranean to Italy :D :D ..

Hmm .. all seems fine .. and peaceful .. Traders doing their jobs .. exchanging items and resources ..

till .. all of a sudden .. a powerful ruler emerges in the Middle East .. who kinda has this grudge against the Europeans .. He occupied Egypt and blocked all trade routes from Egypt to the Europe :O :O :O .. *This was in 1453 BTW*

Now then .. How in the World were the Europeans to trade with the East !!

:O .. they had to find alternative routes ..

*If you are wondering why India .. well It was like a Pit Stop .. before they went to China for Silk and Indonesia for Spices*

So came the era of geographical explorations .. :) .. Many Brave Sailors went on Voyages .. in search of the East .. and in this search .. Columbus found America .. Which i'll narrate shortly ;) ..

Oki ..

Earliest person to start the Exploration was DIAS .. He came all the way till the Tip of Africa .. from where he could not move forward .. due to the violent nature of the Seas .. he Went Back .. reported the king about this .. also .. :P .. He Names this place as "Cape of Storms" .. Which the king did not like .. Well according to him .. who would wanna go to a place like that .. which gives you a negative impression :P .. *intelligent one that king :P* .. He renamed this as "Cape of Good Hope" ..

Then came the Famous Christopher Columbus :D :D .. He had a nice concept of reaching East ;) ..

He knew his geography well :P .. According to him .. Earth is a Sphere .. Keep Moving West and one day .. you'll reach East .. :O .. *Well ... He was right :P ..* .. also .. he said .. if you wanna go east .. why are you moving South .. *LOL !!* .. Soooo .. He went West .. :D .. and according to his calculations .. East was some 15000 Miles away *O.o* .. BUT !! He reached Land like 6000 odd miles .. :O :O .. He was confused !! *he rather be :P * .. This land was unexplored .. He did not know that he had reached Bahamas in America ..* Poor Guy .. He did not know that he discovered America :( * .. He returned back ..

the king .. unsatisfied with this exploration .. sent Amerigo Vespucci .. to check this new land ..

Well .. Now You know after whom America is named :) ..

Now we come to Vasco Da Gama .. :D :D .. He followed the Dias Route till the Cape of Good Hope .. then he followed the east coast of Africa to Madagascar .. There he met a Indian Merchant .. who pointed him the route to India .. He reached Calicut .. It was being ruled by Zamorin's .. He set foot on Indian soil on 17th May 1498 .. He bought spices and sold them in Portugal .. made a huge profit .. and soon became the richest man in Portugal :D :D ..

With the Building of the Suez Canal .. the distance between Europe and East decreased considerably .. about 10000 Miles :) ..

I'd Love to write about Portugese .. Dutch .. British .. Danish and French settlements in India ..

but .. that is for some other day :P ..

For Now .. Am only so much Bored :P :P ..

Blogging O.o ...

Why blog ?!!

The first thought that boggled my mind.

Always found and read blogs that are amusing in ways, some person bragging about his achievements or some other trying to preach the others.

Some even better, its like I ... I and more I, such Egocentricity in the whole blog or rather post.
Rest are rather personal EXPERIENCES, bad ones anyways. No one shares the good stuffs now a days. Its like teaching again, learn from MY Mistakes ... You'll be grateful, else its not me on the receiving end anyways :P ...

Well then about the whole Blogging thing ... its just another activity that requires time be given and sometimes some thought be put in the whole post ... to give it essence .. that Oomph factor :P ... or rather say the Awe ... :D ...

Who Reads it ?!!

And also .. forgot to mention the extensive usage of the dictionary while typing ... so as to make English look as complicated as it can ... :O ...
Whats the point ... the reader obviously will not be carrying a dictionary with him ... or rather say in the new age ... he or she will not Google the word to find its meaning :P ...
Unless ... of course he/she is of the same frequency as the author and is reading to increase his/her vocab or any such reason ..

Anyways ... Blogging is for fun, if you ask me ...
its just another thing to make the time move ...
RELATIVITY ... think Einstein thought of this when he was making the theory ...
maybe he was deprived of the Blog ... else he'd have had a lot of time in his hands ... and relative to himself he'd rather Blog than make up a theory :P ...
Who'd want a theory when you have Blogs :P ...

Anyways ... bottom line ...
no sense in reading this ... just intended to make the time move RELATIVELY fast for me ... :P ..
and WOW ... whadddya know ... i have given like 20 odd minutes in this :P :D ...
